Two VERY short sessions: East cork rocks and Cork Harbour
People: Me
Duration: two 15 minute sessions
Tide:
Weather: sunny Saturday with a fresh breeze. Mild, calm and overcast today
Bait:120mm Fiiish black minnow on 25g 'offshore' jig head
Rigs:snap swivel straight to the braid
Results:1 wrasse Saturday 1 Bass today
Report: While normally I resist acting on hype, I finally decided to jump on the much hyped fiish black minnow bandwagon !
So out came the trusty combo of Shimano exage 4000 / €20 abu devil spin to wet the lure,
Went for three or four casts at an easily accessible East Cork rock mark saturday which resulted in a 3.5 pound Wrasse. Had 15 minutes to spare today and had a 49cm Bass on it. Looks promising so far. Will post again when i've have time for a longer session to compare it to other sp's.

Well done, Good fishing, I could never leave a mark after 15 minutes, especially if I was catching. My last cast takes about 15 minutes!!!
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at the office!

For the wrasse of the rocks I let it sink to the bottom then as you mentioned, I bounced along the bottom giving it twitches of the rod tip. For the bass? I could see the activity below me so it was a straight drop down followed by jigging the lure slowly between 6 inches and two or three feet of the bottomagardiner22 wrote:jaysus that is savage, good to see it on a fiiish too. what way did you work it sink and draw or twitch and bouncesailnfish wrote:wouldn't it be great. Re: Two VERY short sessions: East cork rocks and Cork Harbou
cheers. I love the devil, I always have it ready to go in the back of the car while my other rods are wrapped up in bags and tubes. Not too worried about scratching it scrambling around the rocks or having it stolen. No problem bullying bigger fish and I think it does a decent job casting and working lures. Ya it's a serious rod for the money like! I have no problem putting a bend in it down to the cork and I've no fear of it busting! had some lovely fish on it this year and it's stood up so proud, even had my first salmon on it! have the weekend off now and the forecast looks good so I'm gonna put some pollock punishment on the boat and devils.
