Just a quick post to thank a couple of lads here for helping me decide what spinning gear suited me.
Got loads of advice ended up with this set up.
Shakespeare sigma 9ft spin
( beautiful rod and it has its own tube )
Mitchell avocet gold ||| 4000 rd
With spare spool
Mono 12 lb half reel and braid 15 lb on the rest.
Seller in Waterford ( shooting and fishing )
Threw in good bass lures / swivels extra line and a guarantee if anything happens he stand over them.
Great price to €90 all in.
Fair play to him
Shopping local also mattered to me.
So thanks again.
Now to head out and enjoy it.
Thanks again lads
Huge thanks for help with advice.

Hope you have plenty of good luck with your new set up. What's the casting weight on that rod btw?
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at the office!

Sorry been outRichie07 wrote:Hope you have plenty of good luck with your new set up. What's the casting weight on that rod btw?
It's 0 to 40
Thanks for support as well lads tried out rod / reel and lure
Feels amazing
But is it just me. As I feel a little kind if frightened to snap it.
It bends / responds / feels great
Guess I'm just used to fishing for mackerel : pollack etc. and using bigger weight
Love it though
