Killiney 10/08/2013

#1 Post by TropicThunder »

People: Me

Duration: 22:00 - 02:00

Tide: On the Flood

Weather: Beautiful crystal clear night

Bait: Rag, frozen black lug

Rigs: 3 hook flappers

Results: Loads of dogs and small flats

Report:

Not too much to report. Great night for a bit of fishing. It was clear enough to see a few of the Perseid meteor shower. The dogs obliged at all ranges. I was hoping for a cheeky bass but it wasn't to be. The biggest positive was the lack of weed.

Not true......... killiney can be an excellent mark at certain times of the year I have had cod and wrasse to four an five pound, big flounder and dab and even the odd bull huss over the years not to mention my pb bass of over eleven pound and numerous others to five pound.... fishes best in the autumn into the rough ground past the tea rooms with fresh peeler....

mate it is true you must be going back years there,it does throw up a few decent huss down by the tea rooms in the rough ground, that mark will always produce dogs and small flats,i dont recall any bass been takin off it this year and the cod last year have been scarce enough even down waterford compared to other years

Yes its been ten years since I last fished it on a regular basis its a pity to see it go down hill so badly but its like all other dubln an wicklow beaches in that regards I suppose had some great sessions there in the past
