Report:

12/06/13
I headed out to Mermaids Cove to fish from low water for a few hours. When I arrived out there was a small surf coming up on the beach and the whole place looked incredibly fishy. I was fishing sandeel, mack and lug at a range of distances to no avail. Not even a nibble. Another lad set up an hour before I left and he had caught nothing by the time I had left. I was really surprised not to pick up anything.

13/06/13
I had some bait left over from the previous session and was dying to get out again. I decided to try Rosses Point as I have never fished it before. I fished about one and a half hours either side of high water with the same tactics as the day before. I had set up in one spot and was fishing away when I got talking to a local that has fished the area regularly. He recommended that I move up about 100m to another spot that was over clean sand. He even helped me carry over the gear and stayed around for a chat. A top man! However the fish didn't show and it was another blank.

Not much to report but sometimes you have to give info on the blanks as well! Is there anybody catching Sligo around the moment? I'll be around for another couple of days and might try and get out again...

A report of a blank is always welcome at least you know then where to avoid if youre out in the next few days
Also lets people know if a place is weeded out etc.

hard luck - those blanks affect me a lot too - the main thing is to pick up something out of the trip
dont fish the same conditions next time you fish the place - learn the mark
