Killoughter

#1 Post by Cooke »

Fished Killoughter last night and had the beach to myself. Plenty of whiting at distance to sandeel. Close in - dabs, small whiting and rockling. Some whiting to 28cm but mostly small - under 20cm.

there were whiting to 28cm showing here in september! they never seem to go bigger? will we ever see big whiting on the old east coast venues again?! dun laoighaire pier used to be crowded at the weekends in the evenings with people fishing for whiting. i can remember the sun beginning dip and the whiting shoals invading the place. good sized fish too. last 3 years(maybe more) and they just don't seem to be there. more pout than usual though?
