12/05/13 North Dublin lure fishing

#1 Post by jhcabs »

People: me

Duration: less than an hour

Tide: 2 hours into the food, although the wind was still pushing the current out to sea

Weather: strong west

Bait: lures

Results: A seagull

I was finding the current difficult to work with, and the weather was all over the shop. I managed to get away from the missus and her friend by giving them my debit card and leaving them in the pub while i ran down to the coast to wet a line. I met a fellow angler from the forum who was getting some takes from sea trout but all i had were bass lures. Hope you got some results after Rory ;) pleasure to meet you..

Anyway, i still haven't got my first lure caught bass but i have now offically caught my first seagull. Put up a great battle but he snapped my line and i saw my lure fall 100 feet into the ocean. I wouldn't have minded so much if it wasn't a feed shallow ;(

Eeek...i think i would have followed the gull back to his nest to get a feed shallow back. Unlucky.

Good to see that you can still pull the birds, I get my tacklehouse feed shallow in the sale in Southside angling great value.

I have had a couple of gulls over the years all on feedshallows, nearly had a gannet 2 weeks ago on a smith haluca, just managed to jerk the lure away in time, wouldnt have fancied trying to unhook that lad with his dagger like beak.
