People .... Me and mark 12976

Duration .... 8pm to 1am

Tide..... Full tide at 10.40 pm

Weather. Calm with southwest winds

Bait:Mack, lug, crab

Rigs..... 2 and 3 hook flapper

Results. Whiting, Dab, flounder, 3 beard rockling, pollock, pouting, sea scorpion, dogfish,


Report. Arrived at the pier . The sea was as calm as a lake. We went to the rocks to try spinning for pollock with no joy. We headed for the pier first rod out with some Mackeral on. First cast in close was a small pollock nearly every cast produced a fish. All small between 15 and 24cm. Just before dark I had a good knock on my light tackle rod. Pollock at 35cm . Great crack fighting a fish on light gear on 4lb line. Mark was hitting fish every cast with a good few double and treble hook ups. When it got dark we got plagued by doggies. It was a great busy session and great to knock a few species off the list. The phone went dead so got no photos. Got one photo of the 35 cm pollock. Hope to update it later. Thank god the fishing is getting better.

Great report. It looks like the fishing is getting a bit better on the east coast. fingers crossed it stays that way!

Fair play nice and busy session with a good few fish
Species 2012: Flounder, Whiting, Dublin Bay Codling, Coalie, 3 Beard Rockling, Shore Rockling, Bass, Dogfish, 5.2lb Starry Smoothhound (PB), Twaite Shad, Thornback Ray 5.8lbs (PB), LSD, Pollock, Ballan Wrasse, Cork Wing Wrasse, 43cm Flounder (PB)

Species 2013: Coalie, East Coast Codling, Smoothounds, And hopefully a back opp to get back fishing soon...
