Northern Kerry, Fri & Sat 3rd & 4th May

#1 Post by John D »

People:Mise agús mo brother

Duration:An hour on Fri night & an hour on Sat afternoon

Tide:High @ about midnight & noon

Weather:Mod/strong SW breezes, wet & cold on Fri night, sunny & dry on Sat afternoon. Good water clarity and a good surf. Temps were between 10 & 14 degrees.

Bait:N/A

Rigs:Olive green 5" yamasenko worm & white savage gear Sandeel slug with ilex 5.4g Texas jig head (weedless)

Results:Nothing

Report: I was on more of a kids holiday than a fishing trip. My folks paid for a weekend in Banna for my family. I didn't fish hard enough to deserve any rewards. The strong onshore breeze while conducive to good bass fishing made it difficult casting the light soft plastics. There were about 8 anglers lure fishing on the Sat afternoon session!!! With the strong winds predicted over the next couple of days and with work I probably won't get to target bass until after the bass closed season i.e. June 16th! :-(
Protect the magical sport of sea angling and spread the word that conservation is the way forward. Put fish back!!!!
