Report:
We were planning this day out for the past two weeks. So, up I got this morning, feeling a bit delicate from the pint or ten I had last night. I got the gear ready, into the car and away down the road to collect my fishing buddy. I got to his house, but he wasn't back from the mornings work on his farm so I headed on down to the mark and he said he'd follow me down.

When I landed there, I saw one other guy fishing so I went over to him to see if anything was doing and he said it was very gusty and hard to get a cast right and that he was pulling the pin and heading. Just as I was about to set up, the phone rang, the buddy had van trouble up the road and I told him I'd head back and get him, a 30 mile round trip and we were back n the rocks setting up.

It was now the bad luck started. On my buddy's first cast, he had a crack off. On my first cast I got snagged and lost leader, rig and lead. On my second cast, I had a crack off!!.. We were beginning to think it just wasn't going to be our day. Anyway, I put another rig on and threw it out baited with squid head and tentacles. With it being so blustery it was hard to see bites as the rod was constantly moving and I'm yet to own any sort of tripod!.
I waited about 20 mins and decided to take in be bait to see if anything was at it, and low and behold there was a chunky flattie on it, It had faint orange spots on it so I was thinking it could of been a small plaice but more than likely it was a flounder. It was at this point I discovered I'd left he phone in the car so there was no photo. I was raging eh myself for that.

That's all the action that happened, caught nothing after that, my buddy blanked as well..
Ah well, was good to be out as always and we'll hit it at the right time yet!!
sure, its not raining between the showers!

Were you just opposite the steps below the lighthouse in a blue and yellow fluoro jacket? If you were, I saw you, was out on Rathmullan Charters' boat. We tried the sand all up the beach near there for flats or some ray but nothing doing so you did better than us!
