People: Sweetwrasse, Jacko and myself:
Time: 8PM-11:30PM:
Tide: Flowing tide:
Weather: Dry and breezy:
Bait: Sandeel, Mack, Black Lug, Crab:
Rigs: Flappers (Size 1 hooks):
Results: Flounder,Coalie,Turbot. Blank for myself.:
Having had four blanks in a row I decided to follow the lads to a Wicklow surf beach in the hope of catching some flatties and ridding myself of this dreaded bad spell. I was very optimistic as I was on the phone to the lads and they were catching fish as I was driving down.
By the time I got there Jacko had caught two flounder and Sweetwrasse had caught a flounder and a turbot. Or so they claim!!
I arrived at about 8pm and the the tide was starting to come in. The guys hadn't caught anything or had many bites for a little while and the fishing completely died down.
We waited till dark in the hope of the fish coming on the feed again. As a last ditch ditch effort before heading home Jacko casted out far and managed a Coalie.
It was good to see a fish and I am optimistic of better things as the weather gets warmer.:
