Ferrypoint Youghal Sun 11 Dec 05

#1 Post by drseafish »

People:Myself & Martin

Duration: 1 to 4.30 pm

Tide: 3.7 HT ~2.00pm

Weather: Glorious, but gin clear water

Bait: crab, razor, mussel and squid

Rigs: Pennels 2/0, 4/0 & 6/0

Results: 3 small coalies and 1 small coddling. After some serious fishing a couple of weeks ago things are currently very hit and miss. I am sure it would have been better with a bit of colour in the water. Once the tide turned the volume of weed moving down the river made it virtually unfishable. However a serious Cod was caught off ferrypoint during the week.

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...

2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks
