Report:
headed to east cork to beat east wind
today for low water big surf greeted me and clean foreshore happy days.alas first cast proved tide to strong and severe drag to right.decided to move to more sheltered spot nice surf and wind at back after about 40 mins good tug thinking bass but turned out a 39cm flounder happy days about 1 hour later another knock 35 cm flounder after that got numb hands so called it a day.you can catch on easterly and always find the flats feed on one.

just shows ya you will stick pick up the odd flat in an easterly wind but its hard work fishing those cold conditions,,but you deserve some credit for doing it
so maybe this post is saying that if you brave the weather you can still get in contact with bigger fish,,too cold for the small ones so they go off,,,maybe not good quantity but them flats are certainly good quality,,,seriously thinking bout friday now,,,,,,peakle your bravery now has giveing a lot of people confidence now,,,may i ask,,would this beach requlary throw up flats to this size
Didn't realise the flats were so big until i compared them to your wellies.
fair play mate. you either have really small feet or those are some decent sized flats.
Cork and Kerry are still producing even with the constant cold and easterly winds. Besides rodger da bray pier wave dodger the east coast seems kind of barron. Is this because the warm atlantic currents are keeping up the surface temperture down south. If so, i think a trip down to cork is well worth it for flats like them.

Could'nt give a continental what you did with them or any other fish you catch for that matter,i was merely pointing out that its an awful long way for a person up the country to travel down south for a few flounder regardless if you kept them or not,so chillax im not having a pop.
