cod in youghal last weekend

fished ferrypoint in youghal on sat. 3 other anglers there before us had only 2- 1pounders.didn't stay long. went to council depot before youghal at high water .only 1 cod 2 ibs for 2 hrs.apparently week previous fished really well-i suppose it was the north wind put them out on weekend.any body know why this wind spoils the fishing?
