Portsalon, Co. Donegal Dec. 04, 2005
People: Me (and 10 other hopefuls from Lough Swilly SAC)
Duration: 15:00-18:00 approx
Tide: Low up.
Weather: Blustery NW wind, showers
Bait: Mackerel, razor, squid.
Rigs: 3 hook flappers
Results: Ahem...moving swiftly along....
Report: Fishing from the golf course end over. Didn't look like the worst day for fishing but no-one got anything at all before nightfall. As far as I heard there were a few flounder and whiting caught, one or two small coalfish, but few and far between overall - best I saw personally was the lad on my left who had a triple shot - 2 whiting and a flattie, I've a notion he may have taken the match with that.
Had to cut the match short by an hour as the tide was cutting some people off - this is why I blanked (but at least I had company this time) - I'd been saving my best baits and rigs for the last hour  Ask Tanglerat - he'll back me up....
A decent LSD would have cleaned up, I reckon. I'll never curse dawgs again...

markj and EQ, had I known youse were there and fishing I'd have come up and said hello. I turned up for the last hour of fishing for a nosey and to meet Sandman. Nice to put a face with a name at last!
Marblehill sounds good, I'll do some of that. Was down thereabouts last week and saw a mark that just screamed "Bass" at me. If only there was some Bass around this corner of Ireland!

3 Day Outlook:
Friday night will be mild and mainly dry apart from some mist or fog in places. Saturday will be a dry mild day with sunny spells and a light to moderate southerly breeze. Sunday will be another dry mild day with winds becoming light and variable. Sunday night will be cold though with some frost and fog. Monday will be dry but rather cold with the frost and fog lingering in some areas.
Tanglerat Kinnegar is the next beach North of Rathmullan - just round the back of the town really - as far as I know.
Evenings and weekends suit me. Might try something on Saturday evening say 18:00-22:00 or thereabouts? I'm easy on venues so if anyone has a preference or knows where loads of fish are a dead cert shout. Marble hill got the most votes so far?
