Has anyone shipped rods from the UK to Ireland?
I am looking to ship some gear (2x rods 1x tripod) from Scotland to Clare and am wondering who the cheapest carrier would be? Roughly how much?
Thanks in advance.
Any ideas???

If you are buying them on the internet make sure that they are all posted together. It is best to ring the angling shop there to confirm this.
You might be surprised to find that it may be cheaper when you include the cost of post and packaging to buy the gear in Ireland.
I have bought quite a lot of stuff here cheaper than on the UK angling websites
I was looking for a particular pike lure and was told that Harris Angling had it at the best price. So I bought 3 lures. They were big and the post was very expensive.
I was subsequently in Southside Angling and the lures were there at a cheaper price
This is only 1 example of the notion that buying on the internet is always cheaper. Sometimes it is but often it isn't.
It may pay you to google some of the shops here and check first. They may also bargain with you if you are buying 2 rods or a combo.

Re: Any ideas???
Cheers for the reply Stan. I buy all my tackle here in Ireland as I like to keep business local. The gear is actually my own that I left in Scotland last time I was home. Won't be back home for a while so need to get it over asap.
