Newcastle Beach, Wicklow 2/12/05

2 hours, Arrived at 10:30

Tide:
High Tide at 11:30am


Weather:
The rain was horizontal!


Bait:
Lug, Squid, Mackrel, Peeler

Rigs:
Running Ledgers,2 hook paternosters

Results:
Blankedy blank

Report:
Weather was terrible, sea was rough, tide was full, some would say conditions were perect! The Bull McCabe himself would have been proud of the amount of seaweed we pulled out.
Have to agree 100% with sentiments express in

DogMaster,
Where abouts on the beach were you fishing? I wouldn't write off Newcastle completely as I have found it can throw up quite good catches now and again.

We were fishing a couple of hundred meters north of the train stop.....
Where have you found usefull?

I fish anywhere on the beach really and found it all pretty much the same but where you went, a couple of hundred yards north, has a better reputation.I haven't had any better success here so just wondered why most head up that direction, or mabye its just I'm doing somethig wrong.
