Report:
Just a quick report....

Headed down to see if the cod were still around so went to a beach mark on LW and got set up. The surf was fishable and spirtits were high in expectation of a few fish as we had really fresh bait and had a couple of good sessions on this mark over the winter. Needless to say our optimisim was short lived as the wind picked up on strongish southerlies which made it difficult to see any bites...... Despite this we stayed till HW @ 1000pm with only one codling between us which was about 1 1/2 lbs.

As Seamus spent the last session BRAGGING (sorry seamus) about having never blanked in Cork he was reluctant to go home with his tail between his legs citing the left over bait as excuse.......... We decided on Cobh for a few casts on the last of the dropping. First cast another codling to myself followed by a wee pout. This got Seamus fired up  with him only being short of jumping into the water knife in mouth and telling me again about the Painted Ray (or was it a Thornie..?) that he caught last week...

Poor Seamus eventually pulled in a wee Codling that he didnt know was hooked. By his reaction you would have thought it was a 15lbs cod on the end of his line.

We stayed on a short time longer with another few small fish all undersize before heading back up the road on the long journey back to sunny Co Clare.

My Cork sessions are now over until November with the beaches of west Clare now the focus of attention. Look out all palm sized flatties here i come

T'was a hard slog to be sure, so much for my bragging   I swear to see that wee codling was a life saver  to be fair if starfish counted I would have been ahead :D it's sad to say that we were getting more excited about the size of the lug that we got than the size of the fish we caught :D :D great craic and banter had, even if I did get reminded about not reading between the lines on valentines day   Women, you just can't trust what they say
