An end to overfishing!? Please help

#1 Post by John D »

Hi,

Industrial fishing fleets are plundering our seas and we may run out of fish by 2050! But in days, the EU could pass a bold new plan to end overfishing by 2015. Let's make sure fishy corporate interests don't sabotage the deal. Click below to save our fish:

Yours hopefully,

Industrial fishing is now only carried out by a small number of Danish boats in the northern part of the North sea and this has been the case for a number of years. A few years back Blue Whiting, Boarfish and Argentines were fished for fishmeal, these species are now fished for human consumption. Inshore stocks do not feed on these species as they are found only in very deep water (several hundred fathoms). The Danish industrial fleet fish primarly for Sandeels, a destructive practice that the vast majority of commercial fishermen want to see end.
