People: 6

Duration: 2.30 - 4.45

Tide: hw and dropping

Weather: one heavy shower, otherwise windy and cold

Bait: mack, lug

Rigs: 3 hook flappers

Results: lots of whiting, 3 5b rockling

Report: was taking a few novices out and the date had long been set. was delighted to see the rain ease off and the weed non existant in the water

whiting started to show from the off, biggest probably 30cm - a few rockling inbetween
few rigs lost on rocks in the odd snag
great that all the novices caught - those whiting do serve a purpose afterall

numb hands and fading light curtailed it, but a few more anglers hooked...

Well done on just getting out, never mind getting a few fish and "baptising" a few new recruits. I had dug some lug and got some mackerel for a session but on arriving on site in Donegal, there was a crazy swell being aided and abetted by a strong wind, I didn't even bother getting out of the car!

a couple of clearing floods on the road down was the height of it - nothing remotly like the barrage the west coast is getting today
