Report:
Got cabin fever on sunday afternoon so decided to try one of my deep water marks that sometimes throw up the odd fish this time of year. So got the gear packed and the bait into the passenger footwell with the heater(and the window down) on to start defrosting. Arrived at the mark drinking my tim hortons coffee(oh the simple pleasures in life

) and began to survey the task at hand, and it def looked fishy so it was great to just even stand there thinking about fishing

So after the first hour and nothing but one missed nod on the rod my expectations were somewhat less than great, but then it started. Got my first dogfish of the year so I can now scratch them of my species list and move on

at least I hadn't blanked, then the rays arrived, one missed nod

one small thornie about 2lb landed and then one just tipping the scales at 5lb

oh how I do love fishing. Then the dogs returned all in all a good enough impromptu session
