Been using the nitra for 8 months now and have no complaints. I use it for rough ground as Its a bit poky for normal beach stuff, then again it was designed for rough so thats no surprise. Makes short work of small congers and dogs from the rough.

currently using a triplex 16ft and a supro, both great rods for the price but the only one thing i would say is to be careful not to drop them as the new fugi's which are fitted to them dont seem to take much abuse. otherwise, cracking rods.

what are the two of these rated at and what r they like to cast with. like to pendulum cast so i'd like a bit of back bone, but want the rod for distance fishing over clean and mixed ground with good bite detection at these distances

i take it the new one you are talking about is the 14ft platinum ?if so it is a north east cod rod from what ive been told.
had it in my hands but hadnt cast with it.seems more of a rough ground rod.
the triplex is rated 6oz but aint really suited to pendulum, more overhead thump
supro is rated 5oz but is good for pendulum, clean to mixed ground and has good bite detection.
im still getting used to it as ive not had it long, but beachcaster had a few chucks with it as well, he could maybe tell u what it seems like compared to other rods.
id advise the syntra purely for clean ground beachwork at distance.

even the 3 piece triad got a got write up in tsf a few months back for distance work by barney wright.
i think the impulse which was released earlier in the year is designed as a pendulum rod but yet again i havent used it to tell you any more.
