People:me tight lines and his bro

Duration:bout 9 hours

Tide:flood to high in the carpets the high and drop on ferry point

Weather:great for most of the night till it got shoery

Bait:fresh peelers n lug

Rigs:pennel pulleys

Results:lost a cod bout 12 lb @ d edge ha ... whiting ,coalie , codling , 1 flunder bout 35 cm




Reportleft dublin round half 2 got down there bout 5,45 hit a place called carpet factory set up cast out had a few coalie codling then the lad down from us had a cod bout 7.5 pound so i said get out a big peeler bait far blasted it out ther weed started to pick up so when i got a decent knock i taught it was weed then rod bent over i pulled into it n knew straight away it was a god fish i played it all the way in i got it to the edge were the tyres were it was a monster a guess @ 12/13 pound as wer were pulling it up snood snapped AHHHHHHHHHH ha ha lesson learned gaff or drop net brought on next trip it went quiet after that so we hit ferry point were we got a steady haul of codling then just @ the end of the night had a lovely flounder went quiet after that ...this is my first reprt so any feed back wud be helpfull

Well done on a busy session but sorry to hear about the big one sounds like a fine cod,

Yeah Gar we had a decent session, I'm still thinking about that one that u lost it was a donkey of a fish at least 12lb pr obably more. Lesson for d future, don't let Alan try to help you land it

Shoulda sent Alan swimming after it me thinks..... :mrgreen:

Lesson for the next trip down then, stronger snoods and bring a gaff or drop net.....

thats a pity losing a lovely cod like that -You could try a drop net but can be hard to use with a strong wind or tide
