first cast 10 pound sea bass



Report: been working in ringaskiddy in september and decided to give the pier there a go with some lugworm i dug in county louth on the sunday-first cast straight into this sea bass.. i see people say theres not much about there any more i have to disagree..

belter of a fish! jealous isnt the word for it. haha. blanked twice in the last two weeks, is that spot on the dart line?

Yes, too bad that the Monkstown we have here don't fish as well as yours :lol:
2011 : pollack
2012 : whiting, dogfish, gurnard, flounder, smooth hound, poor cod, pollack, ballan wrasse, corkwing wrasse, goldshinny wrasse, blenny, bass, codling, rockling, dab, pouting, pollack, sea scorpion
2013 : codling(ie), rockling(ie), wrasse(fr), whiting(fr)

dam it. so there is feck all fish in dublin then : ) is there a spot around dublin thats fishing good? havent heard much around the way as of late

Well done on the bass, however if people say that "the wall in Monkstown" is fishing bad then it probably is. One swallow doesn't make a summer.

The next cast caught me a pouting. Then it just turned dark and I caught 5 dogfish so they used all my bait,so I had to call it a day. It's a quality spot with the right bait.

Species 2012: Flounder, Whiting, Dublin Bay Codling, Coalie, 3 Beard Rockling, Shore Rockling, Bass, Dogfish, 5.2lb Starry Smoothhound (PB), Twaite Shad, Thornback Ray 5.8lbs (PB), LSD, Pollock, Ballan Wrasse, Cork Wing Wrasse, 43cm Flounder (PB)

Species 2013: Coalie, East Coast Codling, Smoothounds, And hopefully a back opp to get back fishing soon...

fine bass lad,a beauty boy..never heard of a big fella like him taken off the wall..did you have a drop net? would been sh*ttin it incase i lost him on the haul up the wall! some buzz i'd say...well done lad :D
