Awe Struck...

#1 Post by Drew »

I was looking at Donaghadee Pier tonight, Getting hammered by that Northerly wind and an absolutely Beautiful Swell, and I was thinking, 'I Should be down there!'... I said it to one of my mates who proceeded to call me a 'Mental B******d'.... and started questioning my sanity...

Does anyone else have this problem with non Angling friends?

I get a few funny looks from non-anglers for describing conditions as 'grand for a chuck' - conditions where polar bears nicking your bait are a distinct possibility.

I suppose if I mentioned that I'd be buried in a flotation suit, wooly face, neoprene gloves, boots etc they might understand. Oh, and I just bought a beach buddy off ebay. Shore angling is largely a waiting game, and I intend to wait in comfort....
