Colliemore harbour (Beside bullok harbour)

#1 Post by myworldfishing »

People: Myself and 2

Duration: 5 hours

Tide: from bottom to in

Weather: FREEEEEZING!!!

Bait: Lug, crab, razor and mac

Rigs:All sorts

Results: Goby, rockling and a lobster.

Report: Decided to head out local and use up the frozen stuff in the freezer and it was a toss between greystones and colliemore.

We went with colliemore because we know we can get pollock galore in greystones, but have never given colliemore a good go.
After a few hours of just landing crabs we tryed a float in close to the wall and within 10 mins there was a lovely big rockling landed.

I decided to freeline some mac in close on a small hook and could feel lots of small bites, but then the rod got this weird thug, Like someone pulling the line slowely. I started reeling in and thought it was a monster crab but when it broke the surface I got a shock. A lovely lobster, My very first EVER.... You can imagine the joy on the harbour..lol

After that we only had a small coby, but the lobster made the trip..

PS: Tea was beautiful and sloppy... YUM.

You can see the photo here, its not the best because the camara died after I got the one photo:

I used to fish Coliemore a bit when I was a kid. In the summer there's fun Wrasse fishing close to the wall, and in the winter we'd get cod at distance. The tide really rips through the sound there though. We used to get lots of Conger from the rocks between there and Sorrento park. No monsters but if we headed down at dusk we never failed to catch.
