Daiwa 7ht Millionaire Turbo

#1 Post by originalsin »

Im looking at one of these reels thats going fairly cheap, has anyone ever used one and are they any use? I currently have a 7ht mag so am wondering how much difference there is between the two... Also, ive seen a few original 7ht's which have been modified to have mag's fitted, anyone any experience with these?

I hear they are a good reel but no brakes in them, very fast real that not everyone will get on with.

All 7ht's have brakes fitted as standard, the standard black and red turbo work on brake blocks the blue mag works on magnets. all are good solid reliable fishing reels, but the red and black ones have slower retrieve rates than the blue one.

the red one is not for the faint hearted    i had a few cast and to be honest found it very hard to control ,however you can get a mag unit for them ,i,m sure this would make it alot better for fishing ,their is one on ebay with a mono mag with one bid on it at 61 euro and the mag on its own is 27 euro

In relation to mag conversion kits, how do these compare to factory fitted mags? Like, how will the 7ht turbo with a mag conversion kit compare to the factory 7ht mag?

it will make it easier for you to control and more forgiving than the standard model BUT if you set them up correctly with right line and corect spool float they are a joy to use and control as standard.

I suppose if I do get that reel with the conversion on it already if I want to remove the modified part it should, in theory, just be a case of swapping the modified end plate with a standard end plate? Or would that be too easy :?
