What is the best way to bait a flapper or a fillet using a circle hook and still be able to cast it 50/60 yards form the shore

hook flapper through the bottom jaw and out through the snout , this should hold it for a cast of that distance.
with a fillet it may be more difficult, hook in and out at tail end and maybe give it a good wrap of bait elastic around the bottom of hook shank and bend but leave the rest of the hook sitting proud of the bait to avoid blocking the point of the hook.give it a try anyway
Not the BigPhil from Irish Angler mag, I'm the original, i swear!!!!

Remember to tie the line along the back of the hook shank (snelled) so the hook will turn into the fish.
