Waterford Bass 3/8/12

#1 Post by midnight oil »

People:Me

Duration: 5pm - 7pm

Tide: High Tide about 7.15

Weather: light showers

Bait: Crab

Rigs: various

Results: 5lb bass

Report: First time fishing This year. Went to a mark in Waterford that has produced for me in the past. Second cast I had a load of weed so after 5 mins reeled in and recast. 5 mins later the rod went flying out of the stand and I only barely managed to get my hand to the rod butt. I put this down to the weed but once I picked up the rod I had a good tug and a nice battle later resulted in a 5lb bass on the beach.

Didn't get anymore fish for that session but was glad to have my first bass on my first attempt. Didn't take any pictures I am afraid.

Thank you all. Was delighted when I had landed it.

Quite a lot of weed around and was worried for a minute or so.

I almost lost the rod, never mind the fish. I just about managed to get a hand to the end of the butt with the rest of the rod in the drink! Was out of the stand, down the beach and in the water as quick as a blink.
