if it reaches here you wont need a cull and its possible it will reach our shores.it wont just effect seals. whales, dolphins,and possibley sharks feeding on the dead seals it wouldent take to long to reach the atlantic via the food chain.

Rockhunter you are of course entitled to your opinion but seals have more right to be in or near the ocean than we do. It's not a hobby for them it's a matter of survival. Also it's not seals that are emptying the oceans of fish but man by overfishing on an industrial scale.

I guess I should have phrased that differently - I didn't mean to convey that I was in favour of a seal cull - I was trying to say that it would be used as an excuse by inshore fishermen for a cull.
I have no problem with seals and reckon if there is a seal about then its an indication that the area holds fish.
Incidently I havn't seen a seal over the last 6 weeks coinciding with the poor fishing along the south coast - if I can find the seals then that is where the fish have gone.
