Culdaff SAC Festival/Ulster Open Gold Medal Boat 21/22 July

Duration: 10:30-16:00

Tide: 1hrs flood/ 4.5 hrs ebb

Weather: calm and warm Saturday, sw 4/5 on Sunday and cooler

Bait: rag, mack, lug, mussel, squid, etc

Rigs: various 3 hook up, down, flowing traces, hokkais, spreader bars, etc

Results: red gurnard (300+), whiting (300+), grey gurnard (150+), pollack (200+), coalie (100+), ballan wrasse (200+), corkwing wrasse, dab, cod, scorpion fish, tub gurnard.

Report:

A short report of the Culdaff Sea Angling Festival 2012 and UPC Open Gold Medal. Fishing was ery good once again this year considering the year thats in it with poor weather conditions and the red tide issues further west. The club would like to express its thanks to everyone who took part. A special mention to the Loughs Agency for there financial support this year which allowed us to reduce the entry fee to €40 and a thank you to John McLaughlin and skippers derek and charlie from Inishowen Boating Company for getting us on the fish in safety each day. There were some large ballan wrasse caught once again this year and a good few nice hard fighting pollack. The results were as follows;
