Portrush 18th July 2012

#1 Post by Monty156a »

Location: Blue pool

Date: 18/7/2012

Tide: Rising, HW

Weather: Manky. Wet & windy

Beach/Rocks: Rocks

Baits: Sandeel & Mack

Rigs:Feathers, pulleys and Abu Toby lure

Species caught: LSD, Pollock & Mackerel

Report: Shocking evening weatherwise out on the rocks, it was as dangerous as hell and I went down a clatter a few times :( . The lines were quiet at first and then the doggies came a runnin' . It was so damn slippery I took down the tripod and beachcasters and concentrated on spinning with a light rod. Pollock of a reasonable size were taking the Toby lure and Mack were taking the feathers. Both species were caught pretty much at maximum casting range.

We packed up when I fell for the umpteenth time, it was ridiculously slippery out there :x . Good nights catching though, no photos this time. Knowing me I would have fallen in camera and all

it can come to the stage when wet algae-covered rocks can become ridiculously slippery. wise idea to forget about it.
maybe better to head to a beach or somethin
well done on gettin a few fish tho :)
