People: Me and Lee
Duration: 17.00 - 02.00
Tide: high @ 22.00
Weather: slight southerely
Bait: rag,lug,squid,mackeral and sandeel
Rigs: pulleys , 2 hook flappers, 8/0 conger traces
Results: Far too many whiting, 3 doggies and 3 congers (all returned alive, except for a couple of whiting which I munched for breakfast :) )
Report: Tried Downhill first for a few chucks until dark, nothing showed, so moved to the blue pool.... Had the whole place to ourselves not a sinner in sight. Lee had the first double whiting within minutes of setting up. Pretty much continues like that for most of the night ... fishing quietened down at high tide for an hour or so, but picked up again just after slack water. Set up the conger gear and I caught my first conger weighing in at 9lbs .... it went to ground for ages but eventually, after asking it nicely a couple of times it obliged and came to the surface.... good nights craic ( Lees caught 2 congers.... least he said they were congers, I think they looked more like Launce :) )

Certain people on this forum believe in being sporting anglers, others air on the side of caution but to see an angler fishing for a bootlace with a boat rod was a bit on the heavy handed side
Only kidding, great nights fishing, just a pity this venue did not fish as well during the last forum meet.
Next target is to get Andy his first double figure conger. 8)
