Lads this comp is being run a little bit differently to normal.

Its basically being run as half a big fish comp and half a normal match.

Its a good oppertunity for the big fish specialists to show the match anglers how its done with half the prize fund being dedicated to top places in the big fish catagory and half dedicated to the zone positions.

This format is being run on a tempory basis and if the interest is there(i.e. more anglers on the beach) we can look into running an Irish Open Shore big fish league next year and having someone crowned the Irish open shore big fish angling champion.

Bally heally is a great venue to start this off as there are large bass,smoothhound and tope available in good numbers.

A big thanks to all the lads for supporting this competition.

Weather conditions were excellent and the fishing had something for everyone be they match men or big fish hunters.

Results from the Ballyhealy leg of the Irish Open Shore League.

Big Fish Section.

1st Stephen Fanning - Tope 109cm.
2nd George Ruxton - Hound 90cm.
3rd David Roche - Bass 48cm.

Longest Flat
John Owens - Flounder 36cm.

Match Section

1st Mike Curtin 20 fish 454 points.
2nd Joe Byrne 17 fish 385 points.
3rd Martin Howlin 11 fish 238 points.

Juvenile Winner
