#1 Post by gfkelly1969 »

People:marcin,chris and myself

Duration:day 1 18:00 to 03:00 day 2 marcin,chris 08:00 to 20:30 myself 18:30 to 20:30

Tide:all stages

Weather:dry with a light breeze

Bait:ragworm,lugworm,mackerel,squid,sandeel

Rigs:various

Results:dab,flounder,ballen wrasse,corkwing wrasse,dogfish,rock goby,butterfish,blenny,poor cod,coalfish,pollack,conger eel,thornback ray,mackerel

Report:i have not put up a shore report in over a year,i will have to try post more
i headed to the mark first and set up one rod with a float rig for mini species and the second rod with lug and rag worm on a 2 hook flapper, the first bite of the session came shortly after on the float rod i reeled in and landed my first ever rock goby
Photo0931.jpg
followed soon after by a blenny
Photo0932.jpg
and a butterfish
Photo0935.jpg
the 2 lads arrived soon after and as we were chatting while the lads setup i saw a bite on the beach caster,it looked like a dog fish bite so i gave it awhile to hook it self and after 5 mins i went to reel in and to my surprise i landed the biggest flounder that i ever caught,42cm long
Image
he was the fattest one i ever seen as well
Image
the session started well for me :D and it also went very well for the lads too

soon after setting up Chris had a great bite and had to run for the rod as it was nearly pulled in to the sea, after a great fight he landed his first ever ballen wrasse
Photo0946.jpg
we had loads of dogfish after that and the float rod kept me very busy with poor cod
Image
and my first corkwing wrasse of the year
Image
the lads had some more ballen wrasse and then marcin caught his first ever dab
Photo0953.jpg
i headed home soon after because i had to work in the morning,i was tempted to pull a sickie and stay fishing through the night and the next day with the lads as the fishing was so good

after work i headed off to meet the lads at a new mark, when i arrived the lads had loads of dog fish caught and i set up to try for a thornback ray but was into dogfish soon after i had mackerel at the mark as well
chris landed the first and only ray of the evening
marcin was trying for conger and lost a few good fish and then landed a 6lb conger after a great fight

we finished fishing at 20:30 and headed home, every one was happy after 2 sessions.every one caught a new species and plenty of fish, happy days :D :D

thanks to marcin for all the grippers :D :D
thanks to tightlines for the rag and lug :D :D

thanks MONKEYwrasse we are lucky along the west coast, there are a lot of bays and beaches and rock marks we can fish from but i think a lot of the coast line has never been fished as most lads fish the more poplar marks
