There is no doubt in my mind that pollack are right up there with bass when it comes to Irish sport fishing. They may not have the staying power but boy the first power dive from a large pollack is something else.
On a trip to West Cork recently my friends and I enjoyed fantastic lure fishing for this species from a number of rock marks which hardly if ever see an angler from one end of the year to the other. How many pollack we landed I cannot say but on occasions it was a fish a chuck, biggest 8.lb 4.oz with many over 6.lb.
Ireland really does have a fantastic RSA resource, in the area that this post refers to mullet, wrasse, pollack, and bass are plentiful and large, now that's a sport fishing quartet worth protecting.

You're right Andrew, Roger does look like Rushie, I can tell you for certain though he's better at fishing than football, also he's a die hard Plymouth Argyle supporter but then we all have our crosses to bear.
