People: me , donny , bOogaloo
Duration: 3 - 8.30pm
Tide:incoming
Weather:a bit blowy, big surf
Bait:sandeel, rag, squid
Rigs:2 hook clipped and 3 hook scratchers.
Results: small pollack, flounder, decent coalies, dogs, whiting
Report:a few flats in daylight in close, coaliea etc came on at dark but this must have been one of the highest tides ive ever seen on this beach and as it came up near high water the amount of crap that started to be thrown around in the surf was unreal!mostly big clumps of kelp and some very big bits of driftwood etc. this seemed to kill the fishing a bit as well which was going really well up to that point.lost my tripod due to 1/2 a tree catching on my 2 lines, pulling my rods the whole heap in with it!!got my rods but tripod was a goner!

Sorry I couldn't make it tonight. Feeling more than a little green today.
Lucky that you got the rods back, just highlights how easy it can happen
Surprised that no Cod were showing, that beach has been getting hammered for near a week!

Morning Phil.
I have fished this beach 6 times and caught one flounder.
I've heard good reports from various people but never experienced good fishing here.
Sorry to hear about your tripod, at least you got the rods back.
This beach always seems to throw up a lot of debris....
Better luck next time.

Depends where you fish it , in the winter the left hand side from the gaa pitch on down always has a lot of weed etc on it , The middle of the beach is in my expereince always clean , and the right hand side towards the pub car park is a bit rough

my own fault, wasnt standing close enough to them or watching them enough, but at least we know there are still some fish on it!most of the fish came from around 30-50yds out before the weed etc appeared, only got 2 fish on the rod i stuck out at distance all day.had around 15 fish on the other one in close with trebles 3 times.small hooks and squid strips seemed to do the trick nicely.
Not the BigPhil from Irish Angler mag, I'm the original, i swear!!!!
