Meridian, Killybegs 26/5/2012

Duration:8.30am till 4.30pm

Tide:High tide about 10 am

Weather:Sunshine but light easterly wind

Bait:Mackerel

Rigs:Feathers Hookeyes, Flowing traces

Results:Mackerel, Pollock , Coley, Sandeel

Report: A beautiful day in Donegal Bay with sunshine and a light breeze. Lots of small Mackerel for bait and the smoker. Full strings all round. Under the Slieve League Cliffs and we were into the Pollock. Good sport with fish up about 5 lb and lots of them. Shoals of coley around Rathlin O'Beirne Island finished of the day nicely. Not many species but still a good first day at sea this year .
Species 2011: Mackerel, Sandeel, Cod, Coley, Pouting, Ling, Pollock, Cuckoo Wrasse, Red Gurnard, Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Poor Cod.

Species 2012: Mackerel, Pollock, Coley, Pouting

The pollock must've migrated across the bay to get out of that NE wind, no sign of them off North Mayo except the odd small snot.
