Creevy pier and rocky shore to the Castle - 8th May

#1 Post by alancooper »

People:Just me

Duration:3hrs 5-8pm

Tide:mid to fullish

Weather: cloudy and cold with gentle N breeze

Bait: fresh lug - tipped with mac

Rigs: 2 up 1 down and occasional mac flies

Results: not a nibble

Nice afternoon and a good high tide for 9pm - dug some local lug and tried mainly for anything on sand - with occasional spinning as a break. First 1.5 hours from rocks then as the breeze turned into a fresh northerly, retreated to the pier. Not even the crabs were taking the bait. Gave up before the dusk high tide. Has anyone caught anything following the JohnWest
marathon? - or should I wait and hope that the fish turn up maybe by June?
Alan.

It looks like things are still slow in the North - it would be intersting to know if the season is slow elsewhere.
