funny thing i noticed this reel is one of the new abu,s and the plate is made from a soft alloy very light in weight ,opened up my old mag elite and the plate is chromed and not a mark on it ,water is getting into the reel via corrosion and pitting on the outside of the plate ,i gave it a good dollop of reel greese before i put it back together hopefully this will keep the water out :|
