Softies at this time of year as the water is still a bit cold, Xlayers in the Ayu colour woud be my choice. Over the coming weeks as the water warms up i will be using HPs,Tacklehouse Feedshallow in pearl colour will do the job also i like using Savage Gear Sandeels 125m 23g they are cheap and will catch you Bass.

Many thanks for the advice as I have never had much luck at the beginning of the season and never caught anything on soft plastics but will try the ones you mentioned.
Thanks again

I have had a couple of bass on dirty silver SG sandeel slugs on jigheads in the first few weeks of April this year.

regarding temp - softs work well in both the higher or lower temps - in fact the warmer water may give them more life, softs help your presentations by keeping your bait close to the bottom with a jig head - this is where bass spend a lot of time!
