Browns Bay net Islandmagee
There is a net in BrownsBay close to the mouth of the small river on the left hand side of the beach you can see the floats does anyone know who to ring about it, dont think it should be there.

Tight lines

It's not a net , it's a floating rope to try to keep the jet-skiers further out from people swimming. The council put it there a couple of years agoMARRCO7 wrote:There is a net in BrownsBay close to the mouth of the small river on the left hand side of the beach you can see the floats does anyone know who to ring about it, dont think it should be there.

How disappointing, I quite liked the idea of a net to catch jet-skiers, would it work for surfers too? If so, no quota should be enforced.Etihad wrote:It's not a net , it's a floating rope to try to keep the jet-skiers further out from people swimming. Hi Guys,
the bouys appear every year.
and there is a sign that warns jet skiers to keep a mimium distance away from the shore, beyond the red bouys.
Its a pretty large sign as well
