Weather:very very calm
Bait: snadeels
Rigs: clipped up and over running ledger
Results:rays and doggies
hi lads,
haven't reported in a while, mainly been small bass catching over the last few weeks so decided to head for a ray session.
sat night passed and i had no plans and the misses was away out on the sauce so at 11.30pm i decided it was time for a fix!! i dont normally fish on this mark on big spring tides because its nearly like uptiding when the curren begins to run so can be hard to keep bottom - but it worked that night!!

packed the car and headed to lough swilly, flew up the road and landed in record time, got immediately set up as low water as approaching fast on this big tide.

the Min the baits hit the water it was ray, doggies, doggies, rays, doggies rays and so on. great nights sport with rays reaching the 6lb 6 mark and the doggies to 2lb.

as this was an off the cuff session I'd only two packs of sandeels and by the time i'd hauled in the doggies and rays in quick succession i was soon running low on bait, plus i'd the crabs on full attack.
got a quick pic of one of the rays but all very similar in markings and returned safely to grow bigger for me.
was a great quick fire session and i lost count of how many fish i caught which is always a bonus.
regards
dave
