keeping your tripod upright in a gale

#1 Post by rab 525 »

when fishing on an uneven rocky surface or in a gale instead of using a carrier bag of rocks or sand use a roof rack elastic the long rope type with a metal hook on each end just hook one end to your tripod and the other into a crevice in the rocks or onto your tackle.box.
no more looking for non existant rocks or filling with messy sand, so no bags lying around your fav marks its tidier and cleaner.
if your tripod starts to topple over the tension in the elastic will pull it upright again unlike a bag of rocks in which the momentum will cause it to topple on over.

i fitted stainless steel front legs to my tripod to give it that bit of extra weight to stay put in a blow,...doesnt always work though!
