Favourite Casting Reel & Rod
leading on from another discussion just wondering what everyone's favourite casting reel and rod are
I usually use one or two reels during the day.
Converted 6500 high speed mag with wozza centre mag conversion for 150g
and an older version high speed mag converted with a wozza centre mag for the 125g
I only have one casting rod at the minute, which is a Zziplex Full Tournament
So whats your favourite reel and rod for casting

Re: Favourite Casting Reel & Rod
Yep sakuma or ultima distance. But I also really like the Viz main line it's very supple.
Ultima powerflex for leaders tho in competition.
Again Full Tournament cause it's the only rod I have for casting. Although I did like Marty's old burgundy/maroon TTR.

i get what ever the bank balance can afford. Im going through some amount of line at the minute. so i use the viz stuff because its cheap but i have to say i like the sakuma stuff the best. comes off the spool alot nicer

Re: Favourite Casting Reel & Rod
why mix with a load of different rods when a rod like the 427 does all the leads very well indeed ?

Re: Favourite Casting Reel & Rod
gave the m427 a try on all four leads, didnt work for me, would have to change my style, leader length to suit each lead.
