Bait: Rag & Mack

Rigs: 2 hook flapper (size 1), 3 hook flapper (size 6) & Pulley (Size 2/0)

Results: 3 doggies, 2 codlets, 1 plaice




Report: First session of the year. Bought bait at the weekend with no real plans other than to make sure I got out fishing!

After a great day at the rugby in Limerick on Sunday (SUFTUM!) I wasn't ready to go fishing until late in the afternoon.

Decided to try Red Bay as I've always caught something there.

Got set up for about 5:00ish. No action until after 6. Got 2 doggies in quick succession. After that it went quiet. I then started getting serious rattles on the 2 hook flapper baited with rag but nothing would stick (obviously tiddlers). After a while I switched over to size 6 hooks to satisfy my curiosity as to what was nabbing my baits. This resulted in a lovely wee plaice and 2 codlets.

As I was packing up I got a third doggy.

Big thanks to Chuckaroo who came down for a chat and gave me an umbrella. Top man!

Got another 2 doggies, plaice, dabs & a small pollack.

Didn't make it to Donegal Wife wasn't well.
