People:me

Duration:19.30 / 21.30

Tide:top

Weather:summer eve

Bait:all sorts

Rigs:flappers

Results:3 wrasse 1 rockling

Report:had a few hours to pass in west cork so i headed off for a few casts. 2 hours driving before i found a place i was happy to fish  first cast with 3 crab baits i got a good solid bite. no doubting it i had a fish on the rod was hoping reeled in a nice 37cm wrasse who put up a nice little battle to stay in the water. next cast i put out 3 worm baits not a touch which was the same result as the next cast when i tried the fish baits so it was going to be crab for the rest of the session. 2nd last cast i got a few small rattles soon after casting so i left it out waiting for the fish to hook up but the bites stopped and it all went quiet i was taking in the view around me when i noticed the rod twitching before there was a nice pull on it reeled in 2 small wrasse. they were darker than the first fella and a lot smaller. last cast was upon me and out it went. while i was packing away the gear i spotted the rod give a few little twitches i thought it might be another little wrasse so i continued packing up. brought in the last cast and had a little rockling on. not a hectic session but it was enjoyable and i fully intend to return to the area to see what else is lurking in the west cork waters

My god John you're out of your comfort zone there; was your passport stamped as you went under the Lee Tunnel?
