Bass hunt, North Wexford, Sun 25th March '12

#1 Post by John D »

People:Mise

Duration:Approximately 2 hours

Tide:High at approximately 22:00

Weather:Sunny, bright, dry, warm, calm, fair to ok water clarity

Bait:Not applicable

Rigs:Illex Bonnie 95 & Hart absolut worm (weightless)

Results:Blank

Report:I thought the warm weekend would have brought a few bass in close to the shore. If it did I didn't see or connect with any. In fairness though I didn't time the tides very well. I fished the first 2 to 3 hours of the flood which means the bass could've arrived as I was leaving. I headed because daylight wasn't on my side. I know night lure fishing is meant to be productive but I was on my own and I get scared on my own.

Tight lines,
John D.

Amazing the sea was so calm there - I was bait fishing yesterday afternoon on the south coast and was finding it difficult to hold bottom even with 6 oz grippers !!!!

John, after the previous few days of Easterlies I think that the bass may have moved out a bit. I always find that the fishing in Waterford becomes less productive when the wind goes easterly.
