Does outboard engine charge the battery?

#1 Post by equium »

Hi,

I have a Mariner 30 HP with electric start. Does she charge the battery while running?
Any idea how old is she? Mariner 30 ELO serial no. 689 L 550623. Made in Japan.
Thanks.

It should do, an easy way to find out is put a volt tester on the battery you should get around 12 v then start the engine and while it's running check the volts again it should be around 13 - 13.5 v.
