[b]Bait:rag,mackerel,herring

[b]Rigs:simple

[b]Results:ballan wrasse,corkwing,goldsinney,long spined sea scorpion,poorcod,coalie,shore rockling,lobster!


[b]Report:thought i`d try the pier for a few hours so i headed down about 4pm.i was surpised to see so many wrasse still about,had about 20 while it was still daylight,biggest 3lb 5oz on the mini rod.was hoping for some big three bearded rockling but had no luck,think it was too calm.had plenty of sea scorpions and shore rockling.but the biggest suprise was a 3lb lobster hooked in the mouth! it put up a bloody good fight on the wee rod.not a bad few hours fishing.

Going to bangor peir this weekend do you know at high tide is and is it all rough ground. Any tips or anything on fishing this area rigs etc

where do you fish on the pier?

ive tried off the platform thing but only managed some tiny whiting :(

what do you find to be the best rigs for using on the mini rod for the smaller species?
Not the BigPhil from Irish Angler mag, I'm the original, i swear!!!!

hi hairyconger,high tide is about 3pm so you want to fish when its filling,it fishes best then.the rocks go out about 40 feet then its clean ground.

hi thompo,i fish anywhere on the pier but mostly at the back.

hi phil,best rig is def a stand off loop about 8 inches from the weight,sometimes add a wee bead for attraction. just change hook size to suit species.
