Last sunday, it was very windy but... I have to go!! Can't sit at home reading a book.... Normally, I wanted to kinsale, nice spot for the wyting. I really like the scnery and village Courtmascrry, but as you can read in another topic, results are very disappointing there for me.
Another good spot for me is Cobh. Went sunday from 3 pm till 8 pm. Some hard rain and really very windy. Firts I fished where is the carpark, lot of baitregistr on the top, but al small stuff, Pollack and other. TRhen I moved to the port in the city centre, near Titanic bar and rest. Because of the bad weather, I was alone. I used lugworm and mackerel and cast as far as possible. In the beginning some smal undersiezed wyting, but the last hour, nice wyting ( 18) and 1 nice pollack, all on the worm. Had 1 rod and two hooks, sometimes 2 wyting in one cast.

Tomorrow, I go back to kinsale, my favorite place, lots of wyting, but to be honest, in Cobh they are al little bit bigger...

Winter fishing around Cork

Hi there, just reading your reports for Cobh , and Kinsale. I was wondering if you would be interested in letting me tag along with you fishing sometime? Would like to become more familiar with these marks.

I am a keen angler but could really do with some help with winter fishing techniques.

If you are fishing around Cobh you should try Camden Fort. Short lob into very deep water. Very comfortable place to fish once you get too the water. Never know what you might catch. B carefull though access is quite tricky. It is advisable not to go alone as it is also popular for the odd cider party.
